Sky is revisiting familiar stories from new perspectives this May, with the debut of true crime drama The Staircase – based on the documentary series and starring Colin Firth – and Steven Moffat’s new take on The Time Traveler’s Wife, starring Rose Leslie. There’s also a second voyage for The Flight Attendant and the return of Agatha Raisin.

Agatha Raisin: Season 4 (Sky Max, 8pm) – 2nd May
Everyone’s favourite PR guru-turned-amateur sleuth-turned professional private investigator returns with a new series of village mysteries to solve. Ashley Jensen (Catastrophe, Extras) once again fills the designer shoes of the sassy private eye, leading her marry band of misfits on three new cases: Love, Lies and Liquor; A Spoonful of Poison; and There Goes the Bride.
The Staircase: Season 1 (Sky Atlantic, 9pm) – 5th May
Based on the documentary series of the same name, Colin Firth, Toni Collette and Sophie Turner star in this dramatised adaptation of the true events that explores the life of Michael Peterson, his sprawling North Carolina family, and the suspicious death of his wife, Kathleen Peterson. Episodes 1 to 3 arrive together, with the remaining episodes arriving weekly.
The Murder of Sarah Scazzi? (Sky Crime, 10pm) – 8th May
On the 26th of August 2010 Sarah Scazzi, a 15-yearold girl from Avetrana a small town in the heart of Salento, vanished without a trace. From that day forward, Avetrana would become known across Italy as the scene of a cruel and bloody mystery. Who Killed Sarah Scuzzi? is the new Sky Original docuseries produced by Groenlandia and based on the book of the same name, written by Flavia Piccinni and Carmine Gazzanni (FandangoLibri, 2020). Over four episodes, the series reconstructs the whole affair, not only from a criminal perspective but also examining the role of the media and its sensationalism of the case and the stories of the town’s inhabitants. The Blacklist: Season 9 (Sky Max, 9pm) – 11th May

Das Boot: Season 3 (Sky Atlantic, 9pm) – 15th May
The multi-award winning Sky Germany Original drama returns, following the tense struggles of a young U-boat crew as they engage in the Battle of the Atlantic whilst being hunted down by an obsessed Royal Navy Commander in a thrilling game of cat-and-mouse. All episodes arrive at once.
SWAT: Season 5 (Sky Max, 9pm) – 15th May
Former marine and locally born and raised S.W.A.T. sergeant, Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson is back as the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles. Steven Moffat adapts the much-loved novel by Audrey Niffenegger for the small screen. Directed by David Nutter, The Time Traveler’s Wife tells the story of Clare (Rose Leslie, Game of Thrones) and Henry (Theo James, Divergent), and a marriage with a problem… time travel. Escher: Journey into Infinity (Sky Arts, 9pm) – 17th May
The story of world famous Dutch graphic artist MC Escher (1898-1972). Equal parts history, psychology, and psychedelia, Robin Lutz’s entertaining, eyeopening portrait gives us the man through his own words and images.
The Flight Attendant: Season 2 (Sky Max, 9pm) – 26th May
Having survived the hangover from hell in Season 1, Cassie Bowden (Kaley Cuoco) is living her best sober life in Los Angeles while moonlighting as a CIA asset in her spare time. But when an overseas assignment leads her to inadvertently witness a murder, she becomes entangled in another international intrigue. All episodes arrive at once.
Souls: Season 1 (Sky Atlantic) – Date TBC
An original mystery series from Sky Germany. In Stockholm, pregnant pathologist Allie tries everything possible to prevent her beloved husband and pilot Leo from taking a flight. In Berlin, 25-year-old Linn joins a cult whose members are desperate to believe in life after death. And in a hospital in the middle of Germany, Hanna wakes up after a serious car accident and wonders how on earth her 14-year-old son Jacob managed to save them both from drowning in their car. Law & Order: Organized Crime: Season 2 (Sky Witness) – Date TBC
The newest edition of the Law & Order series returns to follow the detectives of the Organized Crime Control Bureau as they work to dismantle New York City’s most vicious and violent illegal enterprises. After taking down Wheatley’s drug empire and discovering his wife’s killer, Det. Stabler must infiltrate a notorious crime family aiming to take over New York City’s cocaine trade.
The Real Manhunter: Season 2 (Sky Crime) – Date TBC
Former Detective Chief Inspector Colin Sutton spent 30 years in the police force, a career that saw him lead many of the most high-profile and successful murder investigations of his generation, and although he’ll forever be associated with the arrest and conviction of serial killer Levi Bellfield and ‘Night Stalker’ Delroy Grant, his career was so much more. In this returning series, Sutton revisits cases he led and explores everything from the crime itself through to the breakthrough moment when the suspect was identified and arrested.
The Mark of a Serial Killer: Season 3 (Sky Crime) – Date TBC
The behaviours and patterns may differ, but some serial killers simply cannot resist leaving a personal mark on each of their heinous crimes. This returning series continue to delve into the minds of these killers.

Halloween Kills – 20th May
The nightmare isn’t over.
