Can I get into Syracuse with a 2.7 GPA? ›

Scoring a 1410 SAT or a 32 ACT or above will nearly guarantee you admission. Because the school admits 51.8% of all applicants, being far above average raises the admission rate for you to nearly 100%.

However, applying Early Decision will not overcome any significant weaknesses in an application and Early Decision candidates are evaluated based upon the same criteria as Regular Decision candidates.

Important Information. Early Decision is binding, but only if you're admitted to your first choice of college/program. If you're admitted to your second choice or alternate college/program, you'll have until May 1 to reply to the offer of admission.

Syracuse University received a record number of applications—more than 44,500 for 3,700 spots in the Fall 2024 class. Unfortunately, many qualified students could not be offered admission due to the strength and size of the candidate pool.

To be considered for admission to our programs, you should have at the time of application a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and be in good academic standing.

When arriving at Syracuse University, all students who enter the College of Arts and Sciences provide an indication of their intended major or area of interest; however, all students are undeclared until they follow the official declaration of major process.

2.7 GPA Colleges

The admission rates of these schools have an average of merely 5%. None of the Ivy League schools have a minimum GPA requirement for applications, which means anyone can apply with any GPA.

A 2.7 GPA, or Grade Point Average, is equivalent to a B- letter grade on a 4.0 GPA scale, and a percentage grade of 80–82.
